About UsThe shop is situated in a central position, with parking outside. One of the two partners is a qualified Occupational therapist. A very personal service is offered with free personal assessments and advice for such things as scooters, power and wheelchairs, arm chairs, hoists, beds, bath lifts etc. A large number of small items are stocked to assist with nursing care, mobility, kitchen aids including special cutlery, bath & toilet equipment and rails for indoor and outdoor applications. Any item not stocked can be ordered and although we are dependent on suppliers the deliveries are usually very prompt. The shop is an agent for Cosyfeet shoes and slippers and carries a large stock. In addition to fitting clients in the shop a service is provided for rest homes. The OT visits the home with a stock of shoes and slippers so that those who find it difficult to visit the shop can see a range of shoes and be properly fitted. Individuals who are house bound are also visited by arrangement. The shoes are particularly suitable for swollen or arthritic feet being deeper, wider and of a construction which protects the feet from abrasions. Many have Velcro closures which the elderly find so much easier to fasten. Certain items, if in very good condition are accepted either in part exchange or as a straightforward purchase. Items may be hired and there is a free comprehensive delivery service for clients where required. All equipment can be serviced by the shop and an emergency response system is in place to assist those whose scooters break down both whilst they arc out and about and at home. Annual maintenance services are also undertaken. Another area of work is the formal assessment of care homes and residents. |
